Friday, March 4th:

For next Monday there are no tax obligations, so we will review the instructions and publications recently issued by the IRS, competent to corporations, individuals who want a quick refund and employers.

- On February 25th the IRS issued publication 542, which has to do with corporations. It is important to read it every year because it mentions the changes effective in the new tax period: the deductions to take, the income to recognize, the forms to fill out, everything in general for corporations. https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p542.pdf

- Employers that make withholdings (i.e. all employers) must fill out the W2 and W3 forms. The government issued new instructions for these forms. https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/iw2w3.pdf

- Form 1045 to request a quick refund; in case of a tax credit, or if you want to take a loss for another year. It is just published and worth checking out: https://www.irs.gov/forms-pubs/about-form-1045 and https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i1045.pdf

The criminal case of the day: tax evasion and attempts at persuasion come out very costly: 25 years in prison!
